6月21日，迎來了“夏至”節(jié)氣。夏至是二十四節(jié)氣的第10個節(jié)氣，也是夏季的第四個節(jié)氣。

June 21 marks the arrival of Summer Solstice, the 10th solar term among China’s 24 Solar Terms and the fourth of summer. 

這一天，太陽直射地面的位置到達一年的最北端，幾乎直射北回歸線，北半球各地的白晝時間達到全年最長。這一天以后，太陽直射地球的位置逐漸南移，北半球的白晝逐漸縮短。

On this day, the sun reaches its northernmost position, nearly directly over the Tropic of Cancer, granting the Northern Hemisphere its longest daylight hours of the year. From this point onward, the sun’s direct rays gradually shift southward, and daylight in the north begins to shorten.

夏已至，盛夏始，瓜正甜。在貴州黔東南的榕江，萬畝瓜田正醞釀著一場甜蜜的盛宴——果肉艷紅如霞，瓤沙汁甜似蜜的榕江西瓜，以一聲清脆的“咔嚓”，敲開了盛夏最清涼的序章。

Summer has peaked, watermelons are at their sweetest. In Rongjiang County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou, vast fields of watermelons are brewing a sugary feast—with flesh as red as sunset clouds, tender, grainy pulp, and honey-like juice.

 

今日夏至，咬一口榕江的甜吧！讓沙瓤在齒間化開，讓汁水淌過燥熱的喉。迎著最當空的陽光，讓山河的饋贈與人的歡騰，盈滿整個盛夏。

This Summer Solstice, take a bite of Rongjiang’s sweetness! Let the velvety pulp melt on your tongue, let the juice quench your sun-scorched throat. Beneath the zenith sun, may the joy fill every moment of this summer.
